Frequently Asked Questions
What is chiropractic?
The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between the structure of the spine and pelvis and the function of the nervous system and how that relationship affects healing, health and vitality. Our practice also places an emphasis on nutrition, exercise, and other healthy lifestyle modifications.
How does chiropractic work?
Chiropractors resolve health issues primarily through chiropractic adjustments which improve the structure of the spine and the function of the nervous system, thereby allowing your body to create optimal health and healing, naturally and safely.
What is a chiropractic adjustment?
It is a hands-on skill of gently and specifically moving a spinal joint in a precise direction that helps them regain more normal motion, alignment, and function. The healthier the spine, the healthier the nervous system that lives inside the spinal column. This is very important because the nervous system largely determines our level of health and vitality under the direction of the innate intelligence that we all possess in our brains.
There are many ways to adjust the spine, depending on what would serve the patient best.
Why x-rays?
When we recommend x-rays, it is because they will provide us with essential information to provide you with the highest level of care. To see is to know!
Does your office take insurance?
Our doctors have chosen to practice outside of insurance for the New Patient visit because they have too many restrictions regarding the thorough level of evaluation that we do at our office. If you bring your insurance card in, we will call your insurance company to see how they will participate with our office. Although we are not set up to bill them directly, we can in most cases, provide you with the necessary paperwork to submit yourself. The important thing to know is that our out-of-pocket adjustment fees are close to and in some cases lower than most co-payments.
Can chiropractic help pregnant women?
Absolutely. Dr. Karen has participated in advanced training concerning the care of pregnant women and children. This is one of the most important times to receive care to create a healthy pregnancy and an easier delivery.
How soon after birth can I bring my baby to the chiropractor?
As soon as you can get them here! Our doctors have extensive training and experience with pediatric chiropractic care.
